FÆRDER RACE
(June 9-10, 2006)
Over 1000 yachts in the same race!
An annual 90 mile regatta that every Norwegian sailing enthusiast with any self respect strives to
be a part of every year.
The race starts early Friday afternoon with all the vessels cluttering the Oslo harbor. The
course runs out through the narrowest parts of the fjord and turns back around a mark just
south of the Færder lighthouse. The weather
usually spans everything from a dead calm to hefty squalls during the night. The finish line is
just off the city of Horten, where nearly all the yachts tie up for the second and unofficial
part of the race, a BIG party on Saturday evening and night.
During recent years the big boat entries have increased dramatically.
The upcoming event looks to be even more spectacular.
Drop us a line and we will get you involved in one of
the most unforgettable sailing events of your life.
